“Montessori early childhood coursework from a MACTE accredited Program be accepted toward meeting the course requirements for transfer into Community College and California State Universities.”
On May 9, 2011, Roger A. Wolff, President of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), submitted a letter in support of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing accepting MACTE accredited coursework.
“We believe that the monitoring by the Montessori Accrediting Council is sufficient even without regional accreditation to support your approval.“
If WASC can stand in support of MACTE accredited coursework being accepted for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing’s Child Development Permit then logic suggests that the same coursework be accepted as transfer coursework into the twenty-three (23) university in the system:
- California State University Bakersfield
- California State University Channel Islands
- California State University Chico
- California State University Dominguez Hills
- California State University East Bay
- California State University Fresno
- California State University Fullerton
- Humboldt State University
- California State University Long Beach
- California State University Los Angeles
- California Maritime Academy
- California State University Monterey Bay
- California State University Northridge
- California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
- California State University Sacramento
- California State University San Bernardino
- San Diego State University
- San Francisco State University
- San Jose State University
- California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
- California State University San Marcos
- Sonoma State University
- California State University Stanislaus
